About the Journal
Lion & Serpent is published quarterly, and is the official journal of Sekhet-Maat Lodge, O.T.O in Portland, Oregon. Distribution of the hard copy includes local membership, subscribers, OTO bodies in the region, and Grand Lodge officers. Publication also occurs online and on CD-ROM in the form of PDF files. In the future we may print paperbacks of past volumes.
The focus of the journal is the publication of work by local membership, including essays, reviews, rituals, poetry, columns, photography, prayers, memoirs, letters, rants, comics, art, or any creative and printable work.
Guidelines
We are actively seeking contributions of the aforementioned varieties, and we are especially interested in submissions of art and ritual of any kind. If you are having difficulty getting your art scanned, make arrangements with our staff by contacting us and we will help to make arrangements for someone to scan your work.
The journal can accommodate articles up to 3000 words, but works of 250-1500 words are generally preferred. Submit digital files to the editor via email or from our contact information page; or send your manuscript, typescript, CD, DVD, or USB storage device to:

Articles and art are accepted for consideration with the understanding that they are original material. Indicate how you would like to be credited for your work, e.g., "by Frater Freethinker," or "by Jack Handy," and provide us with your your contact information.
For material which includes citation of sources, we recommend (but do not require) the style specified in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition or The Chicago Manual of Style, 13th Edition. Footnotes and endnotes are both acceptable.
Copyright
Writers and artists retain copyright of their work, and by submitting their work agree that Sekhet-Maat Lodge may reproduce it at will, in any medium, to raise funds for the Lodge, unless other specific arrangements are made with the editor.
