Goals for 2008
Goal: Formulate Initiation Budget for 2008
- Assigned to: Fraters IOI, Pangloss and Thrasus
- Current Status: Inventory is currently updated via shared document. This will be viewed and an order placed each quarter based on a desired stock level. All exec officers as well as the Local QM have access and will monitor to ensure stock is maintained.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Update, communicate, and solicit feedback for Initiator Handbook quarterly.
- Suggestions: Email list when there are updates, add a change log to the Initiator Handbook
- Assigned to: Frater IOI
- Current Status: Will be asking for feedback this week via email.
- I have given Fr. I0I the information regarding what Initiators should be discussing with each candidate after the initiation for inclusion into the Initiators Handbook. --Misskim 15:06, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- I am in the process of revising this document.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal
Offer six (4/PI are separate) degree related fora and classes based on the study guide materials.
- Assigned to: Fr. I0I
- Current Status: One done, five left. I have begun soliciting individual initiators to teach these classes.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Decrease cross-talk in our quarterly initiation committee meetings
- Suggestions: Standing when speaking.
- Assigned to: Frater IOI
- Current Status: A simple reminder at the beginning of each meeting has proven sufficient to accomplish this goal.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Generate Feedback mechanism and implement
- Suggestions: Delegate to initiators to have either a post initiation meeting to discuss feedback, or online discussion with officers and then report to meeting.
- Assigned to: Frater IOI to delegate at meeting
- Current Status: Decided to email the Third Degree list and ask for initiators to provide feedback to their team while the experience is fresh. Then to provide any feedback that should be brought to the quarterly initiation meeting to the chair of the committee who will then add this to the agenda. This will continue for the August initiations as it is proving useful.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Provide a curriculum outlined for 2008 on the calendar
- Suggestions: Liaison with Class Coordinator to provide updates for calendar, provide degree classes and fora, provide a system whereby initiators can share their notes for classes and symbolism discussions.
- Assigned to: Frater Khabs Kaos and Soror Aletheia Mnemonicas
- Current Status: Requested that Class Coordinator discuss with initiators and initiates to provide one degree class based on Study guide material and one forum for the March - May class quarter.
- Have emailed Fr. Khabs Kaos regarding a meeting time to discuss this. Will report more soon. --Misskim 15:06, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- Have outlined a full curriculum for 0-4/PI. Began implementation with the most recent Minerval group and will continue the roll out with each subsequent quarter. --Misskim 18:30, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Increase the number of members volunteering to officer
- Suggestions: Better solicitation of officers, through personal one on one discussion and timely email, Initiators discussing issues with officers, requesting feedback directly from officers on the process
- Assigned to: Frater IOI to delegate at meeting
- Current Status: Emails were sent out in a more timely manner for Q1 2008 and the effect was an increase in officer volunteers. This was not followed up on adequately during Q2, however Q3 saw greater success in the resulting pool of officers.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Increase participation of Initiators at lodge events, rituals, initiations, etc.
- Suggestions: Discuss with initiators to provide feedback and remind them of their roles within the community, and to suggest that in the inevitable situation where they miss events, they do what they can to mitigate any negative effects it may have had, i.e., personally congratulating candidates when they miss initiation.
- Assigned to: Frater IOI to delegate to committee
- Current Status: This information has been spread and we have seen initiators attendance increase.
- I suggested that we do this as a regular reminder at each Initiation Committee Meeting. --Misskim 15:06, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Upgrade initiation equipment
- Assigned to: Frater IOI to delegate at meeting
- Current Status:
- Third degree equipment purchased.
- First Degree equipment still needs to be purchased. I am in the process of soliciting ideas for this.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- 4/PI equipment also needs to be purchased. This is a facilities goal, but we should include it here as well. Sr. Sophia and I will make a date to do this soon. --Misskim 15:06, 2 May 2008 (EDT)
- Have handed the job off to Sr. Sophia. --Misskim 18:32, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
Goal: Design and implement a procedure to maintain a consistent inventory, so that regalia and other consumable initiation supplies are always available when needed.
- Assigned to: Fraters IOI and Thrasus
- Current Status: Currently dovetailed with budget. See above.--Geoff 20:41, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
