Promulgation Committee goals of Sekhet-Maat Lodge for the common year 2008

Values

  • Promulgation of the Law of Thelema
  • Committee allows for the ability to bring Thelema and the O.T.O to the public at large
  • Committee allows for members of the Lodge an opportunity to promulgate the law in their own way as well as the way of the Lodge.
  • Encourages the membership of the Lodge to be involved in the community around us.
  • The education of O.T.O members and laity in how to apply the Law of Thelema in their lives.
  • The education of the members in what the process of promulgation of the Law of Thelema is and how that process is implemented.

Vision Statement

The Promulgation Committee exists to promulgate the Law of Thelema in accordance with the vision of Sekhet-Maat Lodge.

Goals for 2008

Goal:

Make a current list of places to drop tracts/put up schedules of classes etc

Goal:

Research the various paper publications that we could advertise in, such as Alternatives Magazine, WWeek, Open Ways and the Mercury

  • 1-13-08 Update:
    • Sr. Hanashi will update list and bring paper copies of publications to next meeting for the committee to look at and make decisions.
    • Fr. Ken will bring copy of Oregonian church listing.


Goal:

Form the men's group Sons of Baphomet for fraternity and fellowship among the men of the community and provide a place for men new to the community to integrate and make social ties.

Goal:

Continue work on the Sisters of Babalon group for fraternity and fellowship among the women of the community and provide a place for women new to the community to integrate and make social ties.

Current Status:
  • First meeting held Oct. 19
  • Second meeting scheduled Jan. 11
  • Third meeting scheduled Mar. 14
    • Goal for next meeting is to get more help with flyering from the local women.
  • Fourth meeting scheduled June 13--Misskim 15:02, 2 May 2008 (EDT)

Open House to introduce the OTO and EGC to the public.

Assigned to:Fr. ΝΘΛΜΚΜΝΡΓ and Sr. Aletheia Mnemonicas
Current Status: Complete
  • Open house scheduled for Feb. 24, 2008
    • Sr. Aletheia Mnemonicas will start on the next date so we can meet deadlines for paper publications etc.
    • Fr. ΝΘΛΜΚΜΝΡΓ will make a flyer and banners.
    • Was done in late Feb. Roughly 30 people attended throughout the day. Although no new acquaintances, several long-time friends of the Lodge decided to take up initiation after attending. --Fr. HydraLVX

Goal:

Make ties with the Buckman Neighborhood community through attendance at meetings and support of the Buckman Historic District.

Current Status:
  • Fr. ΝΘΛΜΚΜΝΡΓ has been making regular updates to the wiki with various businesses in the neighborhood.
  • Address graffiti in neighborhood
    • Facilities will handle the implementation of new paint, painting and cleaning up our building as well as the neighbors.
  • Fr. ΝΘΛΜΚΜΝΡΓ is subscribed to the Historic District GoogleGroup to keep up with news on the project.

Goal:

Each member of the committee will research and read some of the Class E materials and submit to the Class Coordinator to teach a class or moderate a forum on at least one of the topics.

  • Fr. ΝΘΛΜΚΜΝΡΓ is doing Khabs Am Pehkt on Jan. 22

  • Fr. Khabs Kaos is doing a class on Promulgation on Feb. 5
