This is a report on the development in 2008 EV of our web presence, our participation as a Lodge and as individuals in the larger Thelemic community online, and a chart of some of the more interesting web statistics.

Web 2.0

This year we have significantly developed our use of Web 2.0. Our established presences at FaceBook, MySpace and LiveJournal have continued to grow and evolve. Website updates and other Lodge news are regularly deployed throughout our networks and we have cultivated a worldwide readership. At the end of 2008 ev, we also have rolled out social bookmarking on our entire site, making it easy for users to share links to our site through Digg, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, FaceBook, MySpace, and many more similar services.

Wide-Area Community Participation

Many members of Sekhet-Maat also participate in the larger Thelemic online community – such as on social networks, on personal blogs and websites, on Thelemapedia, and others. This participation includes linking to and posting about local and distant O.T.O. events.

Sekhet-Maat Lodge has this year started to host the website for NOTOCON VII as a service to the Pacific Northwest regional O.T.O. bodies involved in the planning and production the seventh biennial National O.T.O. Conference coming in 2009 EV. In addition to hosting, local body expertise in web development and design have been provided to the Order on this and various other projects, including a redesign of the root NOTOCON website and developing a new online presence for Advanced Initiator Training.

Statistics

Since all traffic to the online calendar is tracked separately and does not contain much useful data, the below information does not include any calendar traffic, with the exception of the one statistic specifically about the calendar.

These statistics also do not count any traffic from robots or spiders. These statistics also do not count any traffic to sites hosted by Sekhet-Maat Lodge.

Total Visits: 6333 (2007: 4832, +31%)

This represents the number of times that people came to our website. It counts all visits, and will count the same person multiple times if they visit regularly.

Total Page Views: 312,330 (2007: 238,146, +31%)

This represents the total number of times anyone loaded a page. This includes when a person loads a same page multiple times; each load is counted.

Total Hits: 1,001,814 (2007: 744,001, +35%)

This represents the total number of requests to the server, which includes requests for things other than pages, such as scripts or images which are served by us.

Total Bandwidth: 19.17 GB (2007: 14.94 GB, +28%)

This represents the total amount of data that has been transmitted from our server

Total views of calendar including individual entries: 28,011 (2007: 36,019, -22%)

This is like "Total Page Views" above, but for the calendar section of the site. We have no idea how to account for the drop in views at the time of this writing.
