The Tarot means "The Royal Path." It provides us with the Keys for the esoteric symbolism and grammar of Magick and the Ancient Mysteries. The morning lecture will explain the Qabbalistic Roots of the Tarot. It will include excerpts of Aleister Crowley's Book of Thoth and help to understand this text. Topics discussed will include the Tetragrammaton, the 22 trumps (Major Arcana), the elemental correspondences of the Court cards, the Qabbalistic layout of the four suits (Minor Aracana) on the Tree of Life, Astrology, Numerology, and also Divination. The Tarot is a mystical language rich in symbolism used for Divination. The fabric of the Esoteric Mysteries is woven with this symbolism. The Tarot is a tool for building a stairway into our unconscious. We use this metaphoric language to navigate our way through our unconscious mind - translating the messages of the Divine. Divination is the essence of the Gnostic experience.
After lunch we will view color slides of Aleister Crowley and Freida Harris's Tarot Deck. This, in itself, will be worth the experience of coming to the seminar!
